Four years ago when I had my Focus I remember thinking I could hear a hissing sound at a junction not long after going round a large roundabout and thinking that the steering felt very light. Stopped, got out to find a piece of angle iron protruding from the offside front tyre. If I pulled it the hissing got worse so I left it in and managed to get to the ford garage about a mile down the road.

There's no way the 'get you home' system would have coped with that.

I have also had a large nail giving a slow puncture but just changed wheels.

I would like a spare wheel but the cost is putting me off a bit - I have accord alloys on my civvie and a spare wheel and tyre will cost approx £300. So if the worst happens it will be a call out job to honda assist.
