I had two punctures on my previous Civic - both required new tyres. One would not have been fixable with the gunk, the other might have been.

In over 30 years driving (about 15 punctures in total) - I would say that 50% of punctures have been unrepairable. I believe that only a few of the unrepairables would have been fixable with the gunk.

I would not drive a long distance without a spare wheel. Just too much inconvenience if it can't be changed - especially on a Sunday!
