Good post Pottsy, found it interesting.

I have flown in smallish plane from Bournemouth (Hurn) airport - known as a whisper jet - to Cyprus and in 767s and 747s from Gatwick to the States. Does the engine bit apply to them as well? Sorry for my ignorance - to me they are all jets.

Can't say I have ever had a bad flight or landing (been going to the states every year (except 2004) since 1997) but I have only flown UK firms (Virgin, BA, XL, and a few other charter firms) and have only respect for you pilots.
