No bad landings here, just an aborted take off, we were well down the runway when the engines were cut and the brakes applied rather sharpish, we pulled off and sat on a quiet corner of Edinburgh airport for an hour with the engines revving, and slowing down again, then as calm as you like the standard BA pilots voice came on the tannoy, and apologised for the aborted take off, "but we had a few lights pop up", "we'll go round again and have another go", then spending 1 hour wondering if the lights might spoil the landing at Heathrow.
Thinking of perceived close calls, we were flying back from Entebbe in Uganda a couple of years ago, I was looking out of the window, somewhere over southern Libya when the plane made a violent swing to the right, and a plane flew the other way, a few hundred (maybe even thousand) feet below, made my butt pucker alright!
