I currently drive an Audi A3 tdi DSG (simillar to the ishift) and have ordered an EX ishift. When I test drove it, seemed a bit hesitant at roundabouts and when I was slowing at red lights and not coming to a stop hoping they would change. The sales guy suggested I came off the power a little as it was about to change gear, this seemed to help.
The DSG does exactly the same at roundabouts and at traffic lights if you are about to "apparently" come to a stop but don't, it changes down a gear and you lurch forward, alot of DSG drivers complained of the same thing and various remapping attempts were made but it seems it's a symptom of these intelligent gear boxes - they don't know what your thinking and therefore can't select a gear accordingly.
The sales guy had just moved a new ishift from one part of the forecourt to another, which had the new software. He said that it was much smoother and with slightly quicker changes.
Every new car takes a bit of getting used to and you have to adapt slightly with every car whether its visibility or seating position - the ishift is another thing to get used to and so far I don't think as a total package I have compromised at all in my car change.
