If I had a problem with the Civic I'd call the AA. The RAC is a kind of "catch all" insurance.

I used to belong to the RAC, under my Toyota club membership which I had to pay for, but wasn't for any vehicle.
In all my 29 years of driving I have never had to call out AA/RAC/Greenflag that I belonged to at the time. Maybe I've been lucky, but then again, my hubbie is/was very good at keeping cars running smoothly - and no, he's not a mechanic, he's a roofer, but used to do things himself years ago - oil changes, brakes etc - and I used to help. However these days it's in the lap of the gods what with computers etc but I do take your point. When the car is out of warranty then I will pay for AA/RAC etc!!
