whilst I certainly feel for you, I would say that unless you can prove that your car has a particular fault (such as by doing what Brodick has suggested), you are on a hiding to nothing I'm afraid.

This sort of continual update process happens throughout not only the car industry, but all industries.

For several examples:
Audi TT 225bhp model discontinued due to emmisions issues.
Audi TT 180bhp (at the same time) got a 10% power hike.

Audi obviously knew it was coming, but continued to sell 180 models.

Pick any TV producer. Brand new TV models don't just go from conception to the sales floor in one day. But they still sell the 'old' models whilst designing new ones.

PC manufacturers - launch new PCs / graphics cards / HDDs etc etc etc every day (almost). The old ones still work - but the new ones work better.
And you can bet your bottom dollar that the nth generation is being worked on when n-2 generation hits the shops.

Would you have felt differently if, 1 year down the line Honda had announced
"i-shift manufacture and sales will now cease."
"Honda are proud to announce the sale of the new h-shift system, which will be fitted to Civics from now on"
?

We all, I'm sure, appreciate that you have an issue with the way that i-shift works in your car.

Your dealer (from what I've picked up) is telling you that Honda are telling him that the DVLA are telling them that your car can't be upgraded.

Either someone somewhere is telling porkies, or that's a battle you're unlikely to win I'm afraid.

But having a go at Honda for continually developing and refining isn't, I'm afraid to say, likely to get you anywhere.
