davc, I was thinking about your comment re the boot, it is more than likely the weather, you really have to swing on the handles on the inside of the boot to shut it in the hot weather, the heat will create more pressure in the struts so they want to stay open, you will find on a cool morning that the boot will not rise as quick, I know this from bitter experience, I opened the boot, turned round to pick up my laptop and briefcase, turned and put it in the boot and WALLOP, head introduced to boot lid with some pace.
On a similar line, has anyone else noticed how when you open the boot after rain it takes forever for the water to drain away, and always finds the middle of your back to drip on. Might have to keep a cloth in the boot once the weather turns. Already bought a squuedgy for the rear window just in case.
