I think you may have a point with some drivers not adapting to this automated manual. In auto, if you're accelerating fast, keep your foot down; if you want a more leisurely ride then ease off the gas just a smidgin' as it slips into the next gear. After all, this car has the same gearbox and clutch as a manual car, it's just that the computer operates the clutch and gearchange for you. If you want to drive faster then use the stick/paddles to select your choice of gear for corners/overtaking, just as you would in a manual. That's what makes this system so much more enjoyable than a 'standard' auto where you just sit there, steer and brake.

Everyone says the same thing about it taking time to get used to the auto system, but it is so much more enjoyable when you do. Relax and enjoy.
