Air con was off, road was flat, and I didn't have a boot full of building materials, either.

It's all very well saying manufacturers skew the figures, but in my old Fabia vRS I got the OEM quoted figures, and better, with a 130bhp 1.9l engine. I know the Civic is heavier (both car and engine), but the drop-off is really unimpressive. I really hope this improves in the next 1000 miles or so or I'm going to regret having bought this car.
I switched to BP Ultimate Diesel (thanks for the tip Lozza) and altho its more expensive than regular diesel it does the trick and the increased economy will more than make up for your the cost.

I was getting 39.5 mpg average after 1500 miles - nice mix of A roads and motorways - hardly any sitting in traffic, and I do not drive like an idiot. Was only getting 360 miles out of a tank of fuel.

Now I have an average mpg of 46.7 after just 62 miles of 'new' fuel. Should get 460 out of this tank easily.

Cherry is still going into Honda tomorrow for some tests as to get 4 eco lights lit up I virtually have to have my foot off the accelerator and she decreases in speed... Lets see what happens...
