I have used both the Halfords own and RainX extensively on my last 3 cars and find the difference between the 2 is very little, In fact if you have a Costco card the RainX is cheaper than the Halfords.

As to how long it lasts, on rear and side windows it lasts well over 6 months, as long as it's applied properly to a properly cleaned windscreen, it's only the front where the wipers work that it wears off.

I have yet to apply it to the Civic, a job for this weekend but I think I'm only going to do the rear and side windows and leave the front.

They are both good products in my experience and should work fine on the rear window.
