Hello all

Been using the forum a fair bit for info and advice so far.

Firstly, what MPG have people been seeing with their Diesel Civics.

Ive done 2300miles now, and on length of M6 off boost i see 48mpg.

Driving it hard on back roads approx 42mpg.

Used BP Ultima Diesel on way back up M6 yesterday and driving very old style off boost all the way i scraped 50mpg.

Our old Golf TDi 130 managed a regular 54mpg - 56 mpg on same trip.....

Also the new persex dash, jesus christ you just have to breath on that and it scratches.....any ideas or comments

Also, my last car was a Type R EP3 and from new used oil regularly.

Ive checked oil at fill up of fuel every second time and it still after 2300miles hasnt moved a millimeter. I did the usual 500miles steady driving and then slowly built up revs over next 500miles.

Now i often drive it like i stole it, and its still yet to use a drip of oil...or so it appears.

Whens the best time to check the oil level on the diesel engine, as Type R was 30min from turn off.
