speed does make a huge difference
admitedly on completly different routes - but when I do my normal (ie running late

) round trip to London (350 miles), I get low to mid 40s.
when I did a much more sedate (but also motorway) 200 mile round trip at 65-70 cruise, it was low 50s
overall, after 14K+ miles I've averaged about 45mpg
not as good as some, but a darn site better than I got in the TT
there does seem to be a very wide range on what people get from their 2.2s - possibly down to the heaviness of right feet
