I had come to the same conclusion, but wanted to see some decent pictures of the whole lot done to see if I liked it or not. I will have to wait for Ivoke to finish his Vivid Blue project
TT, the lamp is glued/bonded/moulded/stuck together and there doesn't appear to be any way to dismantle it and remove the orange bit.
And I should know about these things. To de-tango the headlights on my Bugeyed Impreza, you had to remove the headlight assembly and place it in the oven and cook it to soften the sealant enough to break open the unit.
Many an Impreza headlight unit melted in an oven because the instructions were in Fahrenheit and people dialled up the temp in Centigrade (not good for the plastic
