Have a look
here at what I posted yesterday, it might help you. The diagram is the back of an EX HU, but the port is the same on the other non sat nav models (It's the CD Changer port).
I think the info's out their somewhere it's just tracking it down.
If you work on the basis that most Honda HU's use the same port/connector, I think it's probably safe to assume they use the same data protocol.
And seeing as the company that makes
this device (Ability to show ipod text on HU display! - That made you look 
) for the CRV, I don't think it will be long be for someone like Harmon Kardon or Connects2 crack it for the Civic. In fact that item may even work on the Civic.
