I'm going to check the dipstick in about half an hour - once I go for lunch. As even last time I checked it the engine was slightly warm (although had been off for 3hrs). But when I last checked it, the measurement was about half over maximum.
To be honest, I never checked it before always thinking that the oil light would save me, until I found out recently that the light was a very last resort. (cheers Pottsy) I have never put oil in to the car and nobody else has either, so I can only imagine that the dealer did this on my last service, about 7 months ago! I haven't noticed any problems with the car, so hopefully I should be ok; but I think that there's still some havok to be played, especially if it has done any damage at all.
