Read djg's post (#29) it tells you to connect them to the brown wire behind the trim, near rear seatbelt upper anchorage (Pass. side).
Read the whole thread, it gives you all of the info you need to do this yourself.
As long as the ingnition is off and the car is not in reverse (i.e no voltage to the reversing lights) then the is no need to disconnect the battery (IMO) when connecting to the brown wire.
