The Honda Dealer in Swindon openly said "they" did not want my trade-in, but what they did was put the details of the car to the small second hand dealers around the area and get them to "bid" on my car...this seemed to be a well organised and regular thing for them and certainly helped them seal the deal with me....
In the end they came back with nearly what i expected to get selling privately (!) but i had a week without a car as they wanted it before my Civic was ready. Easy to cover....
The price i got was so good i could not turn it down and i`m glad i did not.
I also agree the Type R is not a car they need to push at the moment they probably have more buyers than cars so maket forces dictate that discounts will be thin on the ground.....if you really want it you will have to pay for it !!
