The Honda kit is very limited in its implementation. You have to create 7 playlists named 'honda1, honda2' etc and you then select these from the radio tuner buttons. There is also a facility to play all your tracks randomly. You can't use the iPod controls at all which is very limiting if you want to find a particular track, album, artist etc. Your money but I think you might be disappointed. Ask them to try it out first and see what you think.
My solution has been to burn a number of mp3 disks and purchase an inexpensive FM transmitter which is in the boot so that it is closer to the ariel. Others have fitted the Dension connector, which is far superior (I had one in my Accord), but has not proved to be totally compatible with the Civic head unit.
