LJ, have a look at this lot:

In essence, put each album into a folder, and nothing in the root.
Make sure each track is named so they play in alphabetical order:
01 The name of the first track.mp3
02 The second track.mp3
03 Anything really.mp3

The main display of Album name and track name comes from the mp3 files "tag" which is embedded in the file.

You can view, modify and autogenerate tags and file names (from tags, or from a database on the internet) using the free program Tagscanner.

I really must do a wiki on this...
