Hybrid Future
I think this post should be here, or the general, but anyway...
I have two queries about hybrids that I thought I would share and see peoples opinions on them. And whether or not they would help with sales or popularity in the future for the hybrids.
1) The hybrid market is nowhere near as big here as america, but is there any other reason for them not to release a hybrid on the 3/5dr shape? Are there differences with the cars layout etc or is it purely that the hybrid is designed soley for a different audience and the UK market is not considered big enough?
One of the reasons I got my car was the look of it, not that the hybrid is bad, (much better than a majority of cars) but it didn't have the same impact for me inside and outside.
2) Is there any reason why hybrids aren't er... cross-breeded with diesels? Surely the mixture of fuel economy and/or performance would be greater. I guess diesels are heavier engines and mixing that with batterys etc would make a big car, but that is the only real reason I can think of. Oh and the american audience having more of a thirst for petrol, and again diesel being popular in (for the most part) european countries not america and japan where these cars were designed to be sold.
These were just a couple of thoughts that had crossed my mind while at work, and I think if they were incorporated into this civic (specially the styling) I would have probably chosen one of these instead of my diesel (which I love!). Anyone have any views on this?
