sweeping generalisation there sir!

I can only speak for myself here, but in 20 years of motorcycle riding, I had 3 accidents:
1) driving home, early evening, lights on, residential area, definately NOT speeding. Car coming in opposite direction turned right, into a side road, with no indication, about 10 foot in front of me. I hit her (car), and rolled gently across her bonnet.
2) Completly overcooked a corner, went in WAY too fast, stood the bike upright and grabbed the brakes. Slowed bike enough to get round the corner, but my hand refused to let go of the brake (LOL) so I ended up going straight on...
In my defence, this was on a TRACK, not on the public highway
3) following a car down a residential road, again, not speeding, lights on, good distance behind him. He indicates left, as if to park. I move out (though still on my side of the road). He does a U turn. I end up coming to an abrupt halt, rear wheel in the air and almost nutting him through his window... (I stopped in time LOL, and the rear wheel bounced back down to earth

)
Yes - there are some nutter bike riders out there - but there are also a lot of nutter car drivers.
And as for 'predictable cyclists' - they are obviously very different on your side of the water!
(and yes, I cycle too

)
