Has anyone else experienced oil drinking with their car?

you have recieved some good advice from your dealer there,he is just trying to save you from some heartache because he knows from experience with this engine that when it is damaged due to lack of lubricating oil (usually no 4 big end lets go first & chews up the crank) and you find out due to your neglect in not checking the oil you are landed with a bill for approx £9.5k for a replacement engine that isnt covered by the terms of your warranty. The oil consumption on the 2.2 cdti engine as fitted across the honda range can be very high in the early days of its life until the engine is "fully conditioned",honda technical have said that a consumption figure as high as a litre of oil every 625 miles is acceptable(yes thats 625 miles).this kind of consumption normally occurs when the car is driven at prolonged high speeds ,so for the sake of a couple of minutes check your oil frequently & keep it topped up!!
