The low oil warning should never be ignored,but the oil dipstick should be checked,after the engine is off, on level ground and having stood for 3 to 5 minutes before adding any oil.The level should not exceed the max(upper level) on the dipstick.Use a clean cloth that does'nt shed fibres to wipe the stick and then return it fully into its location before removing again to confirm the level.I think also,you will find instructions in the handbook for the correct procedure
