I was warned when I had the engine on my LandRover upgraded (by a very reputable firm) that the clutch life would be reduced - not so much because it wore faster, but because the increased torque will show normal wear that much earlier - in other words - a clutch that is nearing its normal 'end of life' will slip sooner with 250 ft lbs than with 200 ft lbs.
I have had no troubles in over 50000 miles, but I think it was an honest answer!
