In my last 4 or 5 years of various car forum membership,
no one has ever gone ahead with fitting the full kit to make aftermarket HIDs legal.
By the time you add all the wiring and ballast kits, and rip out all the non-auto adjusting stuff, add the washers (and replace the bumper so that the washers have holes to come out of) the £800 that Honda / Audi etc charge for the upgrade looks like a
really good price
Has the dealer really fitted a full blown
HID system - with the big capacitor and everything?
I'd have thought that was a big job in itself, even without the washers etc
