The diesel is indeed available here in Norway, although I have the petrol .But as mentioned we have some horrific taxes on cars. I imported my petrol Civic from Sweden due to availability, and could then easily see the horrific numbers.

This is for a Civic 1.8 5D Sport, NHB, 17" Storms (kept the original 17" for winter tyres) and the City Pack Exclusive

Price in Sweden in swedish curreny SEK: 211.075,-
Price in Sweden ex. VAT (for exporting): 169.010,-

169.010,- SEK is 146.506,- NOK (Norwegian currency)

So I paid 146.506,- NOK to the swedish dealer and picked up the car. Then after crossing the border I had to pay norwegian VAT and other taxes for the amount of 139.140,- NOK to get the norwegian plates. That is almost half! And the car ended up costing me 285.646,- NOK

The taxes are based on engine size, engine power, and CO2 emissions, so you can probably figure out that the taxes goes sky high on bigger cars.

The Civic Diesel cost approx. 35.000,- NOK more than the 1.8 petrol here in Norway

FYI: 1£ = approx. 12 NOK
