There is something odd going on here.
If you accelerate with the box in auto when stationary with the handbrake on, does the car try to move immediately, or does it feel like the clutch has to engage first?
My car feels like the clutch is engaged all the time with the handbrake on, as soon as the handbrake is released enough, but not completely, the car will start to move under power without any pause, clunk or rev change.
If I do this with the foot brake, the clutch doesn't engage until the brake is completely released, then there is a slight pause, a clunking noise and a slight jolt as the clutch engages.
This is on a Dec 2006 registered 07 model
