I kinda get the feeling that your christmas spirit of forgiveness has been taken up - very lucky, my friend, very lucky

M74 doesn't seem much faster than Motorway8 [bloody text filter !!!] so whats the point of cameras ???

Nearly got caught out by the one approaching Lizzie Bryce roundabout in Livingston via the Camps road on Boxing Day after visiting family, been a few months since I travelled this route so maybe common knowledge by now anyways

I think, as someone else pointed out, that there are NO fixed cameras on the M74, just the camera lines left over from some now-finished roadworks in the area.
I presume that there were temporary cameras to enforce the lower than 70 limits through the roadworks when they were current..

P.S. if you want to type M 8 - put a space between to fool the filter.

Just to be sure, the M74 doesn't have a turn off for the **.
Sure you can leave it join the M73 which has a turn off to the **
Either way there are no speed cameras in either direction from the M74-M73-**.
But as no one ever goes over 70 it doesn't matter anyway
Now if you're going from the M74 to the ** directly don't worry about speed cameras, just be sure to contact air traffic control (on your hands free of course!).

The M74 dosn`t have a direct access to the M 8,
But you could use the Belshill by pass as this runs from M74 to **

If it's mobile and the weather was bad, there is some technicality in the law that means they are not allowed to 'get' people (something to do with health and safety as Angie mentioned). Also if the weather was bad they might not make out your plate nad despite what they say, if they manipulate the image in any way (bar making the image a negative, that is acceptable) to read your plate then the photo is innadmissable as evidence IIRC.
