current or ex-bikers?
a couple of people have owned up in passing, just thought I'd ask
My hall of shame: Honda Wynd - 50cc of pedel powered moped - that whupped restricted Fizzies Yam DT125MX - the pre 'cool LC' version. But it was my Dad's anyway. SilverWing GL650 - you may have noticed my comments on this POS elsewhere Kawa GPz600 - trying to be a CBR beater, and failing. ZXR750 H1 - great bike, got shortened by a car pulling across my lane in front of me ZXR750 J1 - SEXY looking bike - nice curves in electric blue. Got knicked 10 days before we were due to go to LeMans 24hr on it FZR600 - loan bike to take to LeMans. Dropped at roundabout near Portsmouth when tried to lean it like the ZXR. Made it to LeMans and Back with oil being held in crank by several layers of duct tape. ZXR750 H1 - in Jamacan Flag colours (don't ask). Was christened 'Cool Running' ZX7-R - My first brand new bike 916 - My second brand new bike, best thing I have ever done (well, bike wise anyway!) LOVED this bike CCM710 - to try and slow me down a bit. and these days, I'm bikeless The Duke and CCM lived together in my garage up until about a year ago when we moved back into town - bigger mortgage, smaller house, no garage = had to go there you go - that's me |

I am currently Bike(less). I had a near miss last year with some little Chav in his Nova (nearly took me out head on, on my side of the orad), luckily for me I could tighten my line and avoid the brainless sh*t. I thought that this is really getting too dangerous, so sold my road bike.
But my Bike History goes ( I was a late starter) Kawasaki ZZR600 Honda FireBlade RRV Honda FireBlade RRY Suzuki DRZ 400 Aprilia Mille (THis was probably my favourite bike of all - should have kept it - 1000cc V-twin is infectious) Yamaha R1 (2005) model So that leaves me with a KTM 125 Motocross bike to vent my no-bike frustrations, and my Lad has a Yamaha PW80 - Which is great fun when we tear off across the fields. I reckon I will get back into biking next year, but what with my back and all, I think a less agressive sports bike will probably be in order. Something like the Yamaha 1000 Fazer. Sort of best of both world bike. |

BSA Bantam.
Douglas Dragonfly. Big crash; wrote off bike and nearly wrote off myself (pre compulsory crash helmet days!) Then I got my first car. Great big Wolseley 6/80 with headlights set right in the front of the wings and a badge that lit up. Flappy turn indicators and burnt 1 pint of oil to 5 gallons of fuel! Cost £25. Reg No: KPE 6. Had to save up for weeks to afford to buy it. Ended up having to take it to a breakers yard after trying to impress my mates by 'double de-clutching'! |

Very tame compared to some of the machines listed. I just got rid of my Suzuki DRZ400, and I really miss it.
I did get a bit fed up of getting hit with fag ends etc coming out of car windows. Even got a coffee cup right in the face from a builders van |

Mine started with ;
Aprilia RS 250, then; Honda VFR750R, Yamaha Thunderace 1000, Kawasaki ZX12R, Ducati 996S (later turned into my Race Bike, as I did quite a bit a damage when I high sided it at Jerez MotoGP circuit, Spain!), Honda VTR SP2, Honda CBR1000RR, Ducati 749S, MV Agusta F4S 750 EVO3....... As you can see, I've got quite an eye for exotica, but once you've riden something truly special (like my 996), you'll never think twice again about spending that bit extra. I've also been lucky enough to be invited to Brands as an instructor for the California Superbike School, where i rode one of their R6's all day.....It was cheaper for them to lend me one of those than ship over my Race Ducati just for the 2 day school!!!!! I have comprehensive photos of every bike I've owned, so if you wonna see some, let me know!!!! BTW, the missus has now passed her test too, and she's got her eye on a Kawasaki ZX10R for her frist bike!!?!?! Blimey...... |

Went out with a bloke who kept his Yamaha Genesis (1992) in his sitting room/lounge and his motorbike magazines by his loo!
That was a long term relationship........... NOT!! |

Luckily I met the now Mrs TT, who let me and my bike move in. Literally. No Garage. Bike lived in the front room for 3 months (This is not the only reason I love her, but it's a good example Some very nice bikes listed above! (Sort of) glad that I'm not the only ex-biker in here - we get to share our pain! LOL |
