I have not had need to go back to my dealer for anything since picking it up last March.

Reliable = yes

Well, anything man-made can be screwed up...
What's really sad about this: even buying expensive is no protection from buying a plain lemon nowadays. I would demand my money back if it was my car.

Same here, apart from going to the dealer to have the first service done, and to buy a foglight, Mine hasn'e been near a dealer and has been completely reliable and great fun .

Like all cars you get Monday morning/Friday afternoon cars (I had a Mitsubishi like that) but the majority are fine. It's just a crying shame that some folks (TC?) seem to have no end of problems with a car.

Is your Fiancée as lucky and as patient as TC was with her Civic ? Yet TC drive a F**d F*cus and is (very) happy with ...

I'm not sure I would have been patient like that if I had as much trouble with my car, since my experience with my last car.

Don't forget that TC had 2 Civic's and they both turned out to be late Friday afternoon models - how unlucky was that !

My wife has a mini convertible which has been 100% OK so far (3500 miles). We did have the problem with the hood refusing to move, but fixed it ourselves. There's a little switch that one leg of the parcel shelf sits on, and it can end up hovering just above the switch, in which case the hood won't move. A useful 'feature'!

Ive had an 06 CRV 2.2 for the last 21 months, thrashed it, seriously thrashed it for over 60000 miles and absolutely nothing has gone wrong on it, (just worn out 3 sets of tyres, two pairs of front discs) No oil used. no rattles, no squeaks, nothing. I hope the Civic Ive ordered to replace it, (Milano 2.2 EX is as good.

Mine was terrible, now sold. More trips to a dealer than I care to remember and problems never fixed. HUK were as much use as a chocolate fireguard.

I must be lucky - 25k miles in a year and not a single problem. Only been back to the dealer for servicing.

Try Mercedes/Smart for trouble, the combination of:

1. A product rushed out too early
2. Cack product
2. Dealers with dillusions of adequecy
3. A manufacturer with no money

I believe instead of torture at Guantanemo Bay all they should do is release everyone on the understanding they have to own and look after a Smart for 2 years. They will be squealing within weeks.
