I thought this was hilarious

My 9 year old son has had to learn a poem quickly as homework so I thought I would teach him one of my old favourites but he misheard what I said an what he wrote down is so funny I was crying with laughter

This is what the poem should say;

They strolled the lanes together
The sky was studded with Stars
He walked her to the pasture Gate
and lifted for her the bars
She raised her brown eyes at him
There was nothing between them now
for he is a farmers herd man
and she is a jersey cow.

But what my son thought I said was;

The strolled the lanes together
The sky was studded with stars
He walked her to the pasture gate
and lifted for her the bars
She raised her brown eyes at him
There was nothing between them now
for her is a farmers hard man
and she is a dirty cow

I dont think he quite understood why I was laughing so much!!!

They are not so funny when they get to 13, 14, 15, 16!

17 could be good, off to Uni!

My 6 year old said: 'Daddy, but it is OK for me to be naughty, because Jesus died on the cross so we can be naughty.'

Perhaps she has not fully understood the Easter story!

Re her English, perhaps we should reduce her watching so much Charlie and Lola!!

My two kids are pushing 30 now, but my ex used to tell of an embarrassing moment in the lift of a multi-storey car park....

The only people in the lift are the former Lady Dosser, our 2 kids (aged 2 and 4), and lovely wee elderly couple.

Lorna, the talkative 2 year old, turns to the lovely wee elderly couple and says - "my big brother can read, you know".

The wee elderly lady says - "he must be a very clever boy" and Lorna says "yes - Fraser tell them what that says on the wall"

Fraser, who's paying no attention at all, glances up at the lift wall and says ..... "it says "F**k", Lorna" and goes back to studying his shoes.
Cue collapse of stout adult parties in a huge fit of embarrassment and giggles!

It should be pointed out that he was not, in fact, familiar with the word in question, but had worked out how to say it on the spot! (I hope)
