It's comments like this that give us (the Scots) a bad name.

I though the Forum existed in cyber-space, not Scotland?

Some people are just neaps.

I was actually wondering where that even came from, it just sort of 'erupted'.

Very sad really as the three nations (England Ireland and Scotland, Wales doesn't count because of there defeat earlier on and their uniting under I think Harold around 10000 AD[???]) have been unified for several hundred years.

Still never mind,
Tom

Don't get me wrong.

I'd happily be independant of England.

The English have a nack at saying things so arrogant that it rubs the rest of the planet up the wrong way. Even the Americans and Germans.

Hell every minor sporting achievement is blown so far out of proportion that winning the World Tiddly-winks Championships is somehow akin to the glory of 1966. And then we are reminded of 1966 and that they will win it again next time as a matter of course. Unless they meet Germany or Argentina.

Anyhow, I digress.

We are not all racist tattie-heads. (We just don't like the English very much ).

TBH, The English (the few of us left), don't like the scots much either, but we'll be blowed if anyone criticises them, like family (sort of distant cousins no one likes to talk of ).

And I was thinking that we try to build a sort of European Spirit to avoid the "mistakes" of the 20th Century and of the previous ones...

And don't forget Wales beat us all this year !
Glory to them !

8,000 more years of independance for Wales!

My ex-wife (and her family) are all Welsh, and they do prove the adage of "Who do the Welsh support? - Whoever is playing against England"...

Didn't realise I'd made a personal remark, it was a generalisation.

BTW, my ex was Welsh, and always used to go on about how great the Welsh Rugby team was and how great Wales was, hated it when I pointed out the only reason Wales was defeated was because of internal bickering over who was going to be the single ruler (lol, and her retor was, well we are still better at Rugby than you lot, hmmm ok believe that dear, lol.).

Not sure I like where this is going, but at least I have no issues with Mrs RR, she's Swiss, no risk of wanting to upset anyone, if only I could get citizenship, I want my share when they finally divvy up all that gold!!

I'm part Irish, and this is the first time I've mentioned it (not very happy about it, but it was out of my control).

On my mothers isde I'm pure English (Celt), as far back as we've traced (about 200 years so far, lol.). Can't tell my mums got Boudica's blood though (the Red hair and fiery temper might give it away though).

Come on enjoy the rivalry, Britain would be nout without it.

I am English....never British!
If Scotland is so great why are half of thier politicians in London?

I lived in Scotland for two years and suffered racial abuse whilst living there, it's a two way thing!
