Right now I'm about to finish The Science of Discworld III, and I can usually be found curled up around books by Pratchett, Dale Brown, Tom Clancey, Craig Brown, or lately Stephen Coonts and Robert Ludlum

Also been through phases of Harry Harrison and 101 other Sci-Fi writers

I love Harry Harrison's Stainless Steel Rat books, and I'm a bit for a pTerry fan. Tom Holt is also good. Reading Neil Stephenson's Cryptonomicon at the moment

Oh yes and I hate Dan Brown! Did I say hate I ment HATE!

I'm currently reading a book to try and support a course I did in June and the on-going Management Training course I am on at the moment. The 8th Habit by Stephen Covey. Its a follow up to the 7 habits of highly effective people.

Never quite 'got' Tom Holt

Please note - Dale Brown not Dan Brown

Dale is a Tom Clancey style writer, not the other one - who I agree with you about

Loved the SS Rat books though

Currently on the go:

The Argentine Fight For The Falklands (Martin Middlebrook)
The Great War For Civilisation (Robert Fisk, 1300 pages!)
Veronika Decides To Die (Paulo Coelho) am actually re-reading this, I think it's his best work.

Mainly read Pratchett (Even have an Uber rare first edition of "The colour of magic" Locked away in a fire proof safe)

Apart from Pratchett I don't buy any authors religiously, but do read the odd recommend title.

I have recently finished "The Ultramarines Omnibus" by Graham McNeill and it was really rather good. Inspired by the Games Workshop Warhammer 40k franchise (those littel metal figures that young'un's paint) by far beyond anything a child should read. Extremelt blood thirsty and very graphic in its descriptions. Fantastic book (3 stories about the same Ultramarine Captain)

Those expensive little figures...
My lad (12) is into them big time - to the point where I took him up to the Games Workshop HQ in Nottingham for his birthday

I am currently reading a cheap book which i got from asda, it has 2 books in by Mike Gayle. they are your typical love stories.
I usually read thrillers, I am a huge fan of James Patterson and have most of his books. love his stories and they are easy to read but very very addictive!!!

I'm half-way through "A History of Europe" by J M Roberts, and I've started

"Churchill-- The Struggle for Survival" by Sir Charles Wilson, later Lord Moran.

I am reading/doing my NVQ at the mo need to finish it by Nov ( i hope !! )
Reading - Is it just me or everything is ***** ?

EDIT :
The book is really titled as above. It's written by Steve lowe and Alan Mcarthur.
Forum members who are appalled to see what i wrote, apologies . A little misunderstanding and I should have written "i am currently reading" - *tittle of book* and state the authors name.

Currently reading Red Rabbit by Tom Clancy, who writes very good books. Also enjoy Terry Brooks/Stephen Donaldson/Wilbur Smith/JK Rowling/Philip Pullman/Jack Vance/Piers Antony/Tolkein etc etc.

Pratchett himself once joked (whilst on a signing tour) that the Pratchett novel worth the most was the unsigned one .

I've got a few of mine signed (My first editions of Truckers, Diggers & Wings are all signed, which is handy as dreamworks are working on the computer animated movies) but mostly they are as they left the shop.
In fact only missing about 4 or 5 firsts out of the total of books he's written. But I also have well thumbed paperbacks on the shelf that get read often.

If your a fan then get hold of "Once more with Footnotes" if you havent already. It was an American market only compendium of all his short stories, magazine articles and notes about each one. Only 2000 copies printed from what I understand (mine is numbered, so guessing thats the case).

T'Degs,

yup, those figures. the books are VERY good, but think of the gore levels far exceeding what you would see in the most violent hollywood movie and you are slightly close to how bloodthirsty they are.

ps. I guess you know about www.forgeworld.com then? Now there is an expensive website....
