I"m happy with Kaspersky antivirus... Still one of the best AV solutions if you may believe the reviews.

i'm with kaspersky, myself, and it's very good, look hard and you can find some deals out there for the annual licence, get the full one and you wont have to worry about firewalls, viruses, spyware etc, i build all my pcs with it now, as i used to build them with norton and when i installed kaspersky, it found threats that norton had missed, you can also download a month trial to see how you get on with it.

It scores very highly in the pc mags PC Pro: Product Reviews: Labs: Security suites

ebuyer are doing it for £22.88 here Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 - Ebuyer, but you should give the trial a go first and then buy it once you are happy with it

I use Avast (a Russian antivirus free for private users) - never failed me, not heavy on resources (Athlon 64x2 4800+ with 3GB RAM), and has a nice auto-update.

I gave Norton the elbow about 7 years ago and have used AVG free version since.
It hasn't let me down.

Never had a problem with AVG (free), either.

Anti Virus

I've been using F-Secure Internet Security Suite for the last 5 years and have had no problems with viruses in all that time. It also has firewall and spam control included.
You can get a 3 system licence for around £30.00 which means I have protected my home computer and my 2 kids laptops with the same licence. Hope this helps

I can only deal with one bit of high tech at a time jazzman.
Kidding- On XP, but I won't be moving onto Vista until Sir Bill gets it sorted.

Just bought a new Quad Core PC, and so I wanted a really good Anti Virus protection system for it, and shelled out an extra £30 on Norton 360. Had it on 3 days, got nothing but trouble, so Im now back to my trusty old AVG Free... Hard to beat..

Concur with AVG for free, also download Windows Defender for those with legal copies of their OS (of course I can't believe anyone on here is in any way cheating Mr Gates out of a copper or two)...

No shortage of free updates with AVG, Gordon Bennett, they seem to give a download every week at least.

I've been using Norton for years without a problem.

The latest 2007/8 versions have been reworked and now have a greatly reduced footprint and resource requirement.

All the expert reviews of late seem to confirm this and Norton is back up there as a recommended buy.

I've doubled this up with Spyware Doctor and hopefully.................
