Available in the Online store now. Also BBC Iplayer is accessible from Unofficial BBC iPlayer for the PS3 but only on the PS3.

Maldax make sure you do the peer to peer update as the http one doesn't seem to work. Also you have to go to https://id.konami.net/login.do and register a user id for use with the game. Unfortunately Konami seem to want to use their own logins

So far today:
copied user data from my 60Gb (now in living room) onto 40Gb in my office - took 20mins
d/l'd MGS demo - took about 40 mins (I was working

so only keeping half an eye on it)
P2P'd version 1.1 - took another 45 mins or so
installed v1.1 - 10 mins ish
ran - 5 mins to get to start screen - network server error, please restart
ran - another 5 mins to get to start screen - you need a konami ID...
faffed with slow site on PS3 - "site is busy"
switched over to doing it on the PC (guess I need a keyboard for the PS...)
repeatedly tried to get a flipping konami ID - gave up after an hour or occasional trying

so, about 2 or 3 hours and I haven't even seen a gun yet...

I've finally got it all patched but can't create the Konami ID. This is the problem with Betas I think Konami were either being brave or stupid to launch it as an Open Beta, as you expect problems when Beta testing but these are extreme problems even with that in mind.

Time Crisis is good fun still gettting to grips with the FPS bit which is how the complete game starts. The Arcade version is just the same as the game in the Arcade, so if you enjoyed that, this will be as enjoyable. The accuracy of the gun seems good once you have calibrated it (making sure you aim down the barrel).

Will put pictures up in a bit as at work at the moment. Will be online on Resistance Fall of Man tonight at 9 pm as I haven't managed to get Metal Gear working yet. If anyone is interested in playing Motorstorm cob1980 (one of my friends is hosting a game at 9 pm). Tell him you know me and he will add you.

I did contemplate using the 'contact us' button on the Konami site...

Smacks of crass stupidity on their part though.
Even as a dedicated 360 user, even I had heard of MGS, so you would have thought that they would realise launching an open Beta might just create a bit of interest

I normally start playing around 10:30 / 11pm, so if you're still around I might join in

no headset yet though - funds are running low at the mo!

Have you not got a Mobile phone bluetooth headset, they should work with the PS3, we normally play until about 11:30, I'll look out for you.

The Metal Gear Solid Beta has been delayed to the weekend due to problems at least the site for registering your ID now seems to be working fine.

I was just coming on here to say that the Konami site is working now

WHAT a pile of poo the registration is though!

Konami ID must be 8-32 chars, all lower case. Fine. My 360 / PSN / Civinfo IDs are all the same - TTDegs - so we won't be using that then

Password for Konami - at least 8 chars. OK

Game ID - CAN'T be the same as konami ID, BUT has the same rules! (used ttdegs.. for that one then)
Game ID password - NUMERIC only, 4 to 16 numbers.

Luckily, I was using the PC, so at least re-typing and backwards and forwards were easier than if I'd been using the PS...
