I was thinking Firebird too a while, think that this was the front indicator / fog.

FWH... Wrong for the Firebird, part correct with the rear light light cluster. What I mean is that this is only part of the rear lighting...

Sorry St Thomas, all wrong... As for date, lets say it has been available for the last few years, (I took the pic of this car in 2006) however I think it went officially out of production a few weeks back...
