Disc Backup Software? Wot do u use thats good?

The neighbours kids let loose on my laptop (very cunning and clever 4 and 6 yr olds), had to reformat and re-install windows and drivers and programs, then do updates. Took ages...

Prevention is better than cure!

I'd like a program that can save a image of the entire hard drive on discs and then be very easy to use to restore my hard drive the way it was, ready to go!

Have you used anything that does the job and youre happy with?

thanks

PS, made my password a bit stronger now

Acronis True Image does the job for me... very reliable. You can create a bootcd so in the event you can't start your os anymore you are still able to restore drive image.
Complete hard disk drive copy, cloning and image backup software: computer files and disk copying

I purchased a Western Digital Elements external hard drive and stored my entire Drive C and D on it.

Purchased through Amazon.

You can see item and reviews here:

Also create a new profile for the kids to use and make it a limited account. That way they can't install anything etc. Oh and don't give them the password for your (the admin) account.

Hang on what are the neighbours kids doing on your laptop????

On a similar vein to my answer to the virus checker thread

Apple Computer running OSX 10.5 with built in "time machine" doing on the fly background backups every hour .

Again similar to the last thread I always found Drive Image to be very good on the PC but I think they have been bought out by Norton

I always recommend Microsoft's own FREE Synctoy for on the fly data backups.

It is very quick and be easily configured to run at frequent intervals.

I also recommend an external USB2 HDD to go with it.
