Not as described ?
I'm looking to replace my TalexLite as I'm not 100% convinced as to the accuracy of the database anymore.
I notice that Argos are now doing the Snooper Sapphire for £99. I also notice that you can get a "lifetime" subscription to the camera database for £99 also. However - just noticed the small print: Quote:

I have a Snooper Sapphire and lifetime sub, and I seem to remember when I got it - that it shows different subscription rates in different places!
The other problem - its VERY slow to initiate sometimes - I think due to slow GPS start up. Also I'm not convinced of the database accuracy - one place locally where there are mobile speed traps at least once a month - and have been for several years - doesn't show up as a risk area, and 'temporary' 50 limits on motorways often don't show, though they have been there for weeks if not months. Other than that - it works OK |

Right, so that's the Sapphire off the list then.
The more I look into this the more I am tempted to get a TT1 (v4) and make use of my lifetime subscription to the PGPSW cameras (that really are lifetime). Note: The TT1 and ONEXL v4 are due for release during May |

Yep
There I was, sat sitting in the office watching some roadworks, like you do, and low and behold they plonked in a grey pole and put a new bright yellow RedSpeed camera on top. I got straight onto the PGPSW website and reported it and I was the first I'm now waiting for the latest TomTom v4 to be released later this month before making any further decisions. |

I would especially as the camera database seems to be about the best out there. TomTom are the best as well I reckon so you may as well. |

Tom Tom are fine until you have a problem, then their denal of common problems takes the biscuit.
I phone CS with a problem, they say they have never heard of that. If you then look on the PGPSW forums a bifferent story is told For example look at any Tom Tom TMC thread. |

Good point but I'm not sure any of the others are better. Seems with TomTom don't buy a new model when it has just been released. I have an original TomTom One and have never had any issues with it. Just update it every now and then and treated it to new maps last year. |

I am running a 710 so hardly new technology, however I don't think Tomtom take the UK as seriously as Mainland Europe |
