I wonder how these handle side collisions in crashes, though?

I guess this is for real, it would be really hard to master a fake video like this, the problem would be crash situations, yes, but also
- what if your battery runs dead (no way to get into the car?)
- possible accidents - the coming traffic may not see that the door is open
- added weight (?)

Otherwise quite interesting, esp. for parking in narrow gaps

What if you stop in driving rain/snow to let out your rear seat passenger.....the person in the front will get soaked as well!!

Wonder how much they'd cost to have put on a Civic (probably almost as much as the car itself)? Can you imagine the power that they require to close them it must need extra batteries...

Lazy buggers! Its like those 1007 with their automatic opening doors. Normal doors will do me thanks.
