Trick or treat!

So, how many of the little monkeys came knocking for sweeties this evening?

I counted 19 altogether, including one little tinker who seemed to think my tub of goodies were all for him.

Don't like this import at all. Many older residents are VERY frightened and not all the tricks are suitable.

I look forward to it round here! All the callers tonight were 5 to 10 year olds, all with at least one adult, dressed for the occasion and carrying a bag or bucket bulging with sweets.

I assume it varies area to area though.

I agree, does not sound too bad and hope the children (adults) enjoyed it.
Those Yorkshire people know how to do things properly.

Trick or treatin is just one of those things that the UK has adopted from america, and what a loda bull it is. Those kids should be doing their homework.

Still i guess its good training for them later in life when they play knock-down-ginger.

I've wired my door knob up to the mains....

Welcome, St Thomas.

Not all Yorkshire people give these modern day beggars the time of day. I've been sat in the sitting room for the last three hours in the dark, petrified to move. My doorbell is on its last legs and as for the knocker!

Just because we're back in blackout Britain - how I hate it when the clocks go back - do we really need this kind of behaviour. If people can't afford kids, they shouldn't come round begging..... Thought my taxes were going to the CSA as it it.

When they're is so much starving in the world, must we really waste all those pumpkins..... it was turnips in my day!

Turnips in deed. By heck, thou were lucky lass. We had to find a conker tree and then we had to wait for grandad to bake them on his open fire. He gave it another name but I cannot remember it.

The little kids love it, but I have been left with loads of sweets as not as many called this year, and my two bought two buckets full home too

I know a lot of people dont agree with it but where I live, if you display a pumpkin or similar it means its ok to knock

That sounds like a good idea. I think our local police hand out bits of paper with YES/NO on.

Trick or Treat. I'd ban it. We keep an eye on the old lady who lives next door to us.

Last year, she put a sign in her porch saying "trick or treat -- No thank you". Her car was pelted with tangerines and other garbage. She was frightened to death.

Fortunately, this year there was only one group of young children, and that was it. Hopefully, its dying out around here.
