I thought i'd made it on to tv when i was nursing at Papworth...had to sign forms and everything

All you got of me was my laugh...which is quite noticeable...that's my claim to tv fame

Not much then

I had been on before for work on all the BBC news programmes thorughout the day last year had us on, think they still use the pics for the library stock.

cant believe im admitting this but as regards the 15 seconds of fame bit....ive been on ready steady cook..it was a few years ago and i cant watch it without cringing , my daughter as also been on you've been framed.

I was in Tower Records in Piccadilly queuing up to buy a copy of Elton John's 'Tribute to Diana' on its day of release, when a tv crew, without warning, stuck a mike in my face and asked me why I was buying this record.

Stunned by their approach I foolishly replied "I dunno!"

'twas on the news at six that evening!!!

I got ribbed for weeks on that!

"Old age at least gives me an excuse for not being very good at the things that I was not very good at when I was young!"
