'twas following the theme.

You say you've just got one channel.

It's the one that shows 24.

Sorted!

Charles (with apologies to cz), it's up and running in glorious HD.

The installing engineer said it would do it automatically, but it doesn't! I fiddled about and set it all up manually. Now working fine.

Ps: So have I got a Tv Set sets? Or; sets of Tv Set? Or; a set of Tv Sets?

Looks like there's one problem in that, if you set the system to HD then the output from the coax socket stops apart from channels 1 - 5.

So if you're watching a film in HD on the cable channel and feel like you need a bite to eat in the kitchen, you can't watch it in the kitchen (nor can you record on a separate VHS tape as there's no scart or RF output) unless you go into 'settings' and change them back to 'Widescreen/Composite'.

I guess the answer would be to pay for a standard back-up box for the kitchen, or prepare your snack first!

Good points are:

Much improved picture quality (even on non-HD).
Better sound.
Superb programming and recording/playback on the built-in discs (it has 3 tuners) and transfer facility to separate VHS deck.

I'll be round on Sunday night around 21:00.

Don't worry I'll have enough sandwiches for both of us.

If you can get the beers in.
