I think he's great, he is trying to learn how to live off the land and how our ancient ancestors may have lived.
I seriously think it is really important that skills and knowledge that humans spent thousands of years learning and implementing is in some kept alive and not forgotten. Also, I reckon he could live indefinitely without any provisions in most areas of the world. What I do find a little odd is that for someone who walks so much, and eats little insects and fish he catches in a rudimentary handmade nets, etc etc etc; he is a little, well, chubby.... |

I would love an opportunity to spend a few hours out in the wilds with him, trying to light fire, living off the land, it would be great. Does he do courses?
EDIT - Yes he does.... http://www.raymears.com/courses.cfm Last edited by richierich; 15th January 2007 at 12:25. Reason: Google is your friend! |

You can eat the land, would probably taste like crap, but you could have a go, in fact, I'd go as far as to say I would come and film it. But I know what you mean, just to be able to whittle a spoon from a branch, how cool are those cooking implements he makes.
