Honda have had a good showing in the BTCC in the past few years. I used to go to a lot of the meets with my old MG-owning crowd, so I was just wondering if there was any interest on Civinfo in going to the race meets, getting together at the circuits, cheering on the Honda boys (be they factory/Halfords or whatever) this year?

Think your all in for a treat this year !
New civic type R under constuction x2 for team dynamics for Matt Neal and Gordon Sheddon still (hopefully) sponsored by Halfords and they will look FAB ! The old DC5 integra was a great car but under a rules change for 2007 is no longer eligable to win the main championship . Rumour has it that SEAT who are desparate to win with Jason Plato threatened to pull out unless it were effectively banned given that manufacturer support is vital to the series alas it came to pass ! As soon as I am allowed I will post some pics of the new cars being built and when they are finished . Will they be competative ? Well any new car is a risk but enough is carried over will be interesting to see what the aero package works like as this will be the huge difference. As for venues silverstone out ( I wont miss it !) Rockingham in and will be great . Brands Donnington and Knockhill still my favourites though ...... |

Not been to see BTCC for some years, try and watch the ITV coverage, might be good to go this year, Rockingham is not far, shame about Silverstone, its right on the doorstep.

Excellent news that there'll be Civs racing again this year, Mad4.
If I can, I usually try to get to Croft, Oulton Park and Donnington. We'll have to get threads (maybe a BTCC sub-forum?) going nearer the time and maybe try to coordinate meeting up at the circuits if there are a few of us going along. |
