Exclamation Would you be worried if someone took pics of your car in a carpark!

My colleague at work was on the phone to the police when I got back in the office at lunchtime today. A woman in the offices next door saw a white Punto pull up in front of my colleagues Porsche in the car park, one lad got out, took a photo of it and they sped off!!!

She got the reg.plate so he gave that to the police as well - although I doubt they'll do anything as no criminal act has yet to occur...

I wouldn't be surprised if he spends the next few days going on "toilet breaks" to check on his beloved car every few minutes!

I joked with him tonight as we got in our cars not to park his next to mine in case they see mine

Could be innocent enough, Look at the people here who have snapped civics around the country! From a more sinister point of view, could use the photo to copy the VRM to make ringer plates. Unlikely to be any increased danger of theft.

Only concern is our car park is in a dead end, it's not like they were passing by and saw it, you'd have to come out of your way to drive down to our car park to do that!

Well that is different, They clearly had no cause to be there although i don't think your friend should be unduly worried, clearly your civic is more desirable!

It depends if they knew it was there or whatever too, but the "shooting off" sounds a bit dodgy.
At my old place I lived there was always a TVR parked outside on the road (next door, they've upgraded to an Aston Martin Vanquish now though) but I took photos off it once; perfectly innocently.

I was in Tesco's car park the other day and Mrs H. was in there doing a little bit of shopping, I stayed in Millie to listen to the radio.

I noticed two people wandering around Millie looking at her from different angles for quite a few minutes.

I lowered the window to ask if I could help in their quest and they were very surprised.

They thought that Millie was empty and as one of their friends had just ordered a 2007 version they were just very interested in seeing the vehicle in real life as against the brochure shown to them by their friends.

I offered a Civinfo flyer, for their friends, which they took and they moved away embarrased, but happy.

I'm very pleased that it's not just me that likes my spaceship.

.......they never did that with my Mk 6!!!

Are you sure you didn't hear, "Oh look. Someone's stolen the rear wipers from this one."?
