British food

What are your favourites?

Pretty funny stuff on this site. I liked her description of marmite. Mind you I probably will not try any of that stuff after reading it.

My name is Alana, and I live in Scotland. I'm an American, and I've heard all the cultural stereotypes about British food, so I thought I would take the time to try a variety of British foods, drinks and dishes, and report on whether or not they really are all that bad.

"It is all the worst flavors in the world, concentrated into one devil-spawn foul mix. The texture is like really sticky smoker's lung. Only stickier. It is salty and sour and bitter all at the same time. I think I may cry. The flavor is indescribable, but it is similar to what I imagine it would be like to give a blowjob to a diseased hobo. No, it's worse than that. I don't think I'd have as many scarring memories from a diseased hobo."

Priceless!!!

And why would you call a dessert "spotted dick"?

Then again, why not..

Maybe someone spotted something in the dessert, and then gave it that name..

But it is the second favourite conversation topic for us Brits after the weather.

Lovely and sunny here in Basel waiting for my delayed flight

My worst memory of a dinner was in fact in Ireland in a restaurant called Mezzo Luna in Dublin... I've ordered Spaghetti a la Carbonara and i got 10 noodles fighting with 5 small stick of ham and two slices of onions (small ones) in a milky liquid... It was cold, with far too much salt and the noodle where a lot too cook ! And i've to pay something like 10 Euros for that !!! Went to the pub for some guinness to forget and wash my mouth.

In fact I Like pub fooding... and drinking !

By the way we have a wonderfull day here, warm and sunny. Spring before time. First flowers are out.
It's a little bit weird for February
