Because at the age of 21 having spent 3 years in that Nissan Micra, some idiot decides they are quite good at football and offers to pay them £10 million quid a year.

Sadly it is true, but I suppose it's a good way of ensuring they don't breed too much.

People always show these photos, but the fact of the matter is, most of the photos are taken after Trumpton have used the cutting gear to cut it to pieces!

There was an News Paper article circulated internally at Honda just after the 01MY Civic was launched.

It was to the effect that a newly purchase 4 door Civic in Canada (basically same front structure as UK 5Dr) had been involved in a head on with another car at a closing speed around 120kph. The Civic driver had then opened his door and got out un-injured, he then helped the other driver force his door open and he then got out. The Emergency services stated that the performance of the Civic in the crash had not only saved the Civic driver from serious injury but also had offset the poor perfomance of the other car and thus allowed it's driver to also walk away relatively un-injured. The pictures were quite incredible - the Civic was un-recognisable.

Sometimes it's luck but sometimes it's the car as well.
