Trip to Norway, Any suggestion....

My son girlfrend will spend six month in Bergen for her school. So we have planned a little trip (2 weeks) after the 15 of august with my wife (and son) to visit her. So we will visit Bergen areas and also In Stavanger (My wife spend part of her childhood there) , and of course in Oslo. Any suggestion ?

I've had a quick look for the hotel/BB and I found the prices "high" ... Is there a practicle and not so expensive solution for accomodations ? We will stay maximum one or two nights at the same place.

Any Idea or suggestion are welcome !

Of course we will travel with our Civic !

You can for example visit the location of my avatar; 64,3 km east of Bergen central station carpark; the coordinates are N60°34'43,5" E005°51'55,0" (WGS84). This is 2 km west of my childhood home.

My opinion is that norwegian cities in general are less interesting tourist targets than norwegian nature and countryside. The exceptions, still in my opinion, are Bergen and Aalesund. So, use your car and get around!

Your're welcome. Roadside accomodations in camping cabins is easy, it's not far between camping sites. The cost for a cabin (4-8 beds) is from about NOK 400 for simple standard. If you trust me , I can provide more detailed suggestions for routes and trips. It depends of what balance you prefer between driving around and staying in one or few places.
