Its strange that you posted this today Scott - as I've just arrived back in the UK again today, and can't believe how many Focus ST's I've seen today......probably around 8 or 9 in one day!
A mixture of 3 and 5 door models - with 3 being in THAT orange, and the rest a mixture of Blacks, Greys and RS Blue..... I never realised that they were so common......I mean popular....... |

This was the forum I was on, pre-Civinfo! 3192 members - I made a whole 8 posts! What the hell happened to me when i got a Civic? Fell in love with driving I guess. Most of it due to me getting a 3rd party stereo unit (all I wanted was aux-in and MP3 CD's) and blowing a speaker by putting it up a bit too high, never did get round to changing them speakers. Ironically this was on a '99 Pug 206 and the speakers still blew away the Civic ones! However the Infinities do beat it. |

I'm actualy a fully paid member of FFOC, and I help set up club discounts.
It is a good forum to be fair. With a lot of knowledgeable people and stunning cars. There are a few Focus's on there running 350-400bhp!!! There we go, my secret is out. Gareth. Last edited by Holdcroft_Honda; 26th April 2007 at 16:38. |

Ffoc looks good to me, but (like the Renault forums) I'm not so sure about the subscription model.
Having said that, I had no idea how much it costs to run a busy site and I can see the motivation. But, so long as the advertising and sticker revenue here stays close to the hosting costs, it'll remain free. |

Are the sticker and adverts revenues really that high Pottsy? I know how much it costs to run a busy site and personally I couldn't afford to do it out of my own pocket. I know situations are different and what not, but I do see why some people would want more back and why I'd imagine some people can't actually afford to run a site without it.
These sites cost ALOT more to run than people think. I quite like the free for all, but added subscribers get something extra (maybe a higher discount, Pottsy comes to their house and helps them rip the dash apart?) type models. However, as my suggestions above show how with a car site it isn't "that" doable, I've subscribed in the past to a mobile phone website where you get at least double the money back in free software, ok you don't use it all but it helps the site and you get stuff out of it. Having said that, I STILL haven't bought my sticker, my theory is urm...I thought I'd wait to buy it so Pottsy gets a nice steady revenue! |

I used this one before I got the Civic :
www.fccuk.org It's quite a well run site, although looking back at it now, it seems a little bit 'Chav'........ The 'For Sale' section though was brilliant - loads of people checked it everyday, and thus loads of stuff, car-related and non car-related, got bought and sold........ |

perhaps unsurprisingly
www.tt-forum.co.uk 18,500 users and 933,000 threads Haven't been on there for about a year - yes getting shot of the TT was rather traumatic Fairly well run, but that was more down to the mods rather than the site owner... not the best of forum software though Infact - just popped back in to get those stats - I'm still on there as a mod I've dropped down to 17th on the post count though - 7,300 posts There is a great, but not directly connected, owners club www.ttoc.co.uk too |

horses for courses sco
it's all a matter of degrees - does swapping side light bulbs to match the HIDs count as 'modding'? or DIY ambient lighting instead of Honda OEM version? or fitting Infinities? And then you get into chipping the 2.2s. Definately 'modding' - but you could never tell by looking. Personally, I'm all up for tasteful modding - but also realise that what I consider 'tasteful' will be abhorent to others. And vice versa |
